President Bhandari writes to Russian counterpart Putin to facilitate vaccine supply to Nepal

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin urging him to facilitate the purchase of Russian-produced Sputnik-V vaccine.

The letter was sent through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs while Nepal is in crisis of pandemic and vaccination is essential to save the people.

The Department of Health Services has already approved the Russian vaccine. Under ‘Vaccination Diplomacy’, the President has already sent a letter to the President of the United States and India, the countries producing vaccines.
After an hour meeting with Chinese President Xi Jin Ping, China provided one million doses of vaccine and is coming on the way to Nepal.
