Tourism Ministry asks concerned agencies to adjust ATF price

KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal has directed concerned bodies to adjust the prices of aviation turbine fuel in line with the international market.

Minister Dhakal has directed to reduce the price of aviation fuel after holding discussions with Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism Yadav Prasad Koirala, Secretary at the Ministry of Industry Dinesh Bhattarai, Managing Director of NOC Surendra Kumar Poudel, Director General of CAAN Rajan Pokhrel and Managing Director of Nepal Airlines Dim Prakash Poudel.

Dhakal also directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to assist in land management to increase the storage capacity of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) as the demand will increase when the price of fuel is reduced.

Airlines have been hit hard by the lack of timely adjustment of aviation fuel. Various organizations have been demanding a reduction in the prices of aviation fuel used by international airlines.
