Fuel supply across Bagmati affected as petro transporters lunch strike demanding Covid-19 vaccines

KATHMANDU: As the result of drivers’ strike demanding Covid-19 vaccines for them as soon as possible, no tanker has supplied fuel to any fuel station in the Bagmati province that also includes the Kathmandu valley on Monday also.

The Nepal Petroleum Tanker Driver Union had begun the strike on Sunday claiming the government ignored their safety.

The corporation has been making efforts to ensure vaccines for the drivers as soon as possible but has not achieved any success yet, according to him.

The union’s president Ishwar Lama, however, says the strike will not end unless there is a guarantee of the vaccines.

He says around 2,200 drivers and their assistants are waiting for the vaccines.
