Metropolitan cities bring coronavirus-centric budget for 2021-22

KATHMANDU: Five metropolitan cities across the country have introduced the budget for the fiscal year 2021-22.

Of the six metropolitan cities, five of them, except the Lalitpur Municipality, introduced the budget worth more than Rs 37 billion for the upcoming fiscal year.

As the federal and the provincial governments have already introduced their budget for next fiscal year, local governments are obliged to make the budget public by June 29.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has introduced the largest budget of the five municipalities. Metropolitan cities have primarily focused the budget in vaccination against coronavirus and other measures to combat the COvid-19 spread.
