President appoints Sher Bahadur Deuba as Prime Minister; oath of office and secrecy at 5pm

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari today appointed President of Nepali Congress(NC), Sher Bahadur Deuba to the post of the Prime Minister.

Deuba has been appointed the Prime Minister as per Article 76 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal. Earlier on Monday, the Supreme Court passed a verdict to reinstate the House of Representatives and ordered Deuba be appointed to the post of PM.

Deuba, who has been the Prime Minister for fifth time, is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy later at 5 PM. He is expected to expand the Cabinet today itself.
