Nepal received only 45 percent of targeted foreign assistance in 2020-21

KATHMANDU: The government has received merely 45 percent the targeted foreign assistance (loans and grants) in 2020-21 fiscal year.

As per the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the government received Rs 139 billion in foreign loans against the target of Rs 299 billion while it received Rs 24 billion as grants against the target of Rs 60 billion.

As per MoF, amount of foreign assistance received last year was below target as most of the assistances were focused on capital expenditure and that the capital spending in the last fiscal year was poor.
