Secondary market continue to hit record, Nepse index reaches 3,094.94 points

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index today closed at 3,094.94 today after gaining an impressive 15.3 points from the last trading day’s close. This is the highest index-closing in the history of Nepal’s capital market. The previous record was broken yesterday itself.

The index opened at 3,088.45 and immediately made the intraday high at 3,111.28. While it went as low as 3,076.04, it ultimately closed at 3,094.94.

A total of 28,170,172 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs 13.291 billion in the turnover amount. This is lower than yesterday’s figure of Rs 15.17 billion.

The float index is at 215.79 after gaining 0.5 points while the Sensitive index is at 574.32 after gaining 0.02 points.

United Modi Hydropower Limited (UMHL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 38.61 crore closing at a market price of Rs. 486 per share. The shares of National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) traded the most.
