Budget authentication from the President paves way for govt to resume expenditures

KATHMANDU: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari today authenticated the Appropriation Bill (Budget) of the government, ending budget crisis that the government was undergoing since more than a week.

As the government had earlier failed to pass the Replacement Bill on budget ordinance and the Appropriation Bill from the Parliament, it had lose the spending authority (under any headings). As the result, the government could not make expenditure for last nine days.

However, President Bhandari broke this deadlock today by authenticating the budget for the current fiscal year.
