NEA unveils plan to invest Rs 365 billion in electricity infrastructure by 2025

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has unveiled its plan to inject additional Rs 364.71 billion in electricity infrastructure across the country in the next four years.

The NEA said the aforementioned worth investment will be made in mega projects including transmission lines by 2025. Similarly, NEA also plans to utilize the investment in hydropower projects, subsidiary companies and reform in the electricity distribution system.

As per NEA, in the current fiscal year, it is investing Rs 102 billion while the investment plan for the next fiscal year is Rs 86.63 billion. Similarly, the government enterprise will be investing Rs 88.42 billion in 2023/24 and Rs 87.04 billion in 2024/25.
