Imported goods to be cheaper as value of dollar weakens

KATHMANDU: Dollar has continued depreciating after remaining appreciated for one and a half year. Nepali currency has strengthened against dollar.

The dollar has settled for Rs 119.14 on Monday. This is weakest value in one and a half month.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), after reaching the highest point, the dollar has started depreciating. Dollar has weakened as the Indian Rupees has strengthened. Due to the stable exchange rate  between Indian Rupee and Nepalese Rupee, when the Indian Rupee strengthens Nepali Rupee also strengthens.

The dollar had reached Rs 122.28. This will reduce the price of imported goods while the remittance sender will get affected.
