Advocate Pokharel nominated central committee member of RPP-Nepal

KATHMANDU: Senior advocate Bhupendra Pokharel has been nominated as a party’s central committee member of The Rastriya Prajatantra (RPP)-Nepal, a Hindu nationalist political party in Nepal.

Party president Kamal Thapa has nominated Pokharel as the party’s central committee member.

Chairman Thapa informed that he has been nominated as the central committee member of the party as per the constitution of RPP-Nepal, read the nominated letter.

The statement further said, “I am confident that you will work for the greater future of the party by being committed to the party’s principles and policies.”

“I am happy with the decision of Chairman Thapa to nominate me as a central committee member of the party,” Pokharel said, adding that, in a country with more than 80 percent traditional Hindus, I now have an additional role to play in raising the voice for making Nepal as a Hindu nation again.

Pokharel has been advocating in the field of justice and equality for the past 20 years.

Thapa, who revived the RPP-Nepal Party by abandoning the party, is now busy building the organization at a fast pace.

On February 8, Thapa had announced his separation from Rajendra Lingden-led RPP citing ideological and moral differences.

Thapa, time and again accused former monarch Gyandendra Shah of meddling with the party’s internal affairs and for having a hand in his defeat, following the election results.
