Economy to expand to Rs 4.8 trillion at 5.84 percent in 2021-22 FY

KATHMANDU: The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) has projected an economic growth rate of 5.84 percent for the current fiscal year. The statistics were made public by the bureau at a press conference on Thursday.

The CBS has estimated that the gross domestic product (GDP) of the country will reach Rs 4.8 trillion rupees in the current fiscal year.

According to CBS, this projection is based on the fact that there will be no major impact in the economy in the remaining three months of this fiscal year and the impact of Covid-19 will be less.

Meanwhile, the income of Nepalis has increased by $181 dollars in one year $1,372 this year, as per CBS. The government aims to increase the income of every Nepali to $12,000 dollars in the next 25 years.
