Govt raises grant to province and local level for 2022-23

KATHMANDU: The government has announced to increase the grant amount to the province and local level for the upcoming fiscal year.

Presenting the annual budget for the coming fiscal year in the federal parliament today, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma proposed to increase the amount from equalization, conditional and special grants.

According to Sharma, Rs 61.43 billion has been allocated at the province level and Rs 123 billion at the local level under the equalization grant.

Similarly, Rs 57.17 billion has been allocated in the province and Rs 183 billion at the local level under conditional grant.

Meanwhile, Rs 6.30 billion has been allocated in the province and Rs. 7.27 billion at the local level for the matchingy grant. In the special grant, Rs. 4.56 billion has been allocated for the states and Rs. 9.14 billion for the local level
