Commercial banks record Rs 58.33 billion net profit in ten months of this fiscal year

Credit crunch looms as commercial banks grapple with liquidity mismatch

KATHMANDU: 27 commercial banks in Nepal have recorded a total net profit of Rs 58.33 billion in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year.

Of them, Global IME Bank is the top gainer recording a net profit of Rs 4.31 billion. Likewise, NIC Asia Bank has realized a net profit of Rs 4.11 billion. Nabil Bank has recorded a net profit of Rs 3.82 billion.

Rastriya Banijya Bank earned the largest profits of Rs 3.46 billion among the government-owned commercial banks. Nepal Bank Limited earned Rs 2.56 billion while Agriculture Development Bank earned Rs 2.02 billion in profits.

Similarly, development banks have succeeded to make a total net profit of Rs 5.77 billion in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year.
