Govt reduces public transportation fare in response to fuel price reduction

KATHMANDU: The government on Sunday reduced the freight charges and public transport fares in line with the reduction in fuel prices.

As per the Department of Transport Management (DoTM), fare for transport plying on inter-provincial routes have been slashed by 5.41 percent.

Similarly, freight rates for cargo vehicles have also come down as the government has decreased fares of trucks operating in hilly areas by 6.97 and those in the Tarai by 7.68 per cent.
