Nepal government kept ‘under arrest’ CJ Rana in the government residence

KATHMANDU: The ‘suspended’ Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana has been detained unannounced by the Nepal Police personals at his residence in Baluwatar.

The Baluatar sources said that the security agencies have prohibited him from leaving Baluwatar (his official government resident) as he is preparing to go to the Supreme Court today. A large number of security personnel have been mobilized at the entry and exit gate of his resident.

CJ Rana had prepared to return to the Supreme Court today with the conclusion that the impeachment against him had become “inactive” after the term of the House of Representatives ended.

Even in the Supreme Court, strict security arrangements have been made to stop him. However, in the above order, he was detained at the Chief Justice’s residence in Baluwatar.
