Nepse gains 11.32 points

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday gained 11.32 points to close at 1,866.48 points.

After going down by 44 points in the past two days, the secondary market grew by double-digit points. The daily turnover, however, stood at mere Rs 691.73 million, slightly higher than the amount on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the market opened at 1,855.16 points and plunged to 1848.33 points in the first one hour of the commencement of trading. The market rose to as high as 1,872.51 points before losing around six points to close for the day.

Except for trading and mutual funds, the remaining 11 trading groups posted gains in their average shares prices. The sensitive index that measures the performance of class ‘A’ companies increased nominally by 2.56 points.

Among individual companies, Nabil Bank had the biggest turnover amount of Rs 24.01 million. Aviyan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the largest percent of its market value while Everest Bank Limited Debenture 2086 was the top loser.
