Insurance companies start distributing Covid-19 insurance to insurance claimants

KATHMANDU: The insurance companies have started distributing Covid-19 insurance to the insurance claimants.

The government has already allocated Rs 1 billion for the payment of Covid-19 insurance to the claimants.

Insurance companies have added 25 percent of the amount allocated by the government and 12 percent was added by the Nepal Re-Insurance.

Nepal Insurance Authority Executive Director Raju Raman Paudel said that the Nepal Insurance Authority has added eight percent.

Paudel said that the amount will be sufficient to pay for 16, 000 people

So far, the insurance companies have paid Rs 3.5 billion and Rs 12 billion is yet to be paid.
