FM Paudel asked WB to increase financial support

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel requested the World Bank to increase budgetary support

FM Paudel requested to increase the scope of budgetary aid in a meeting with the delegation including World Bank national director Faris H. Hadad-Zervos.

FM Paudel said that the Ministry of Finance will play an effective role in completing the necessary preliminary tasks for the allocation and receipt of budgetary assistance from the World Bank in the current financial year.

Mentioning that the government is committed to identifying and solving the causes of the problems seen in the projects run with the assistance of the World Bank, he said that he is paying attention to ensure that there are no weaknesses and complaints.

Appreciating the support provided by the World Bank in various fields, Paudel informed that projects such as Upper Arun and rural roads are Nepal’s priorities.

FM Paudel expressed his belief that the relationship with the World Bank will be closer and the cooperation will reach higher levels, and said that the political leadership will help to make the projects successful.

National Director of the World Bank, Faris H. Hadad-Zervos, stated that he was aware and impressed with the working style of the FM, Poudel, and expressed his belief that projects supported by the World Bank should be prioritized.

He requested the FM Paudel to facilitate the solution of the problems encountered in the projects run with the assistance of the World Bank.
