Nepal’s trade imbalance of more than Rs 950 billion

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s trade deficit in the first eight months of the current fiscal year is Rs 954 billion.

In the current fiscal year, both imports and exports of products have decreased. Despite this, Nepal’s trade imbalance remains substantial.

Nepal has imported products worth Rs 1058 billion as of mid-March of the current fiscal year, while exports were at Rs 104 billion.

Nepal’s international trade volume was Rs 1456 billion in the first seven months of the previous fiscal year.

Nepal’s international trade volume in the same time of the current fiscal year is only Rs 1163 billion. Foreign commerce has declined by 20% this year compared to previous.
