NEA intensifies its preparations for taking legal action against underperforming contractors

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has intensified its planning to revoke contracts with seven construction firms that were contracted to extend transmission lines and install transformers in various locations throughout the Sudurpaschim Province.

In a public notice, the NEA requested that the contractors provide additional information regarding their physical presence within a week.

The state-owned power company has questioned contractors from Netra Nirman Sewa, Bhagwati Nirman Sewa, Dhulikhel LB and AB JV, Bhagwati JV, Om Bir Bhadra Nirman Construction, Manakamana Nirman Sewa, and MS Construction.

In response to these companies’ failure to carry out the assigned tasks in accordance with the agreements, the NEA allegedly started the process to take action against them.

These businesses were given contracts to build infrastructures and install transformers in a variety of locations, including rural municipalities in Adarsha, Sayal, Bogatan, Badikedar, and Jorayal, among others.
