FM Mahat expands his team, appoints three economic advisors

KATHMANDU: Three economic advisors have been appointed by Dr. Mahat to the Ministry of Finance. Dr. Bishwa Paudel, a former vice president of the National Planning Commission and a prominent member of the Nepali Congress, Dr. Poshraj Pandey, an economist, and Dr. Gunakar Bhatta, the executive director of the Nepal Rastra Bank, have been chosen as his advisors.

In the election that took place in Chitwan, economist Paudel lost. In their capacity as honorary consultants, Poudel and Pandey have been chosen.

Bhatta, a consultant from the Nepal Rastra Bank, joined the Ministry of Finance. He is the director of the central bank’s division responsible for regulating banks and financial institutions.

Mahat, who took over the Ministry of Finance’s leadership as the nation’s economy was in freefall, has advanced by assembling a new team to draft the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
