China’s first domestically made jet to make inaugural commercial flight

KATHMANDU: China’s first domestically made large passenger jet, the C919, arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport following its inaugural commercial flight on Sunday.

Flight MU9191, operated by China Eastern Airlines, took off from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport at 10:32 a.m. with nearly 160 passengers on board.

The plane, registration number B-919A, is the first C919 jetliner delivered worldwide.

The C919 is China’s first self-developed trunk jetliner in accordance with international airworthiness standards, and China owns its independent intellectual property rights. CGTN
