Budget for MoPIT downsized by Rs 30 billion

KATHMANDU: For the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, the government has allotted Rs. 131.59 billion.

Due to Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat’s decision to reserve funding for strategic projects that produce results rather than petty projects, the ministry’s budget has been reduced by Rs 30 billion.

For the current fiscal year, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport was given a budget of Rs 161.56 billion by the government.

According to Finance Minister Dr. Mahat, the government has prepared the budget for the fiscal year 2023–2024 under the theme of the second phase of economic reform and structural change in the economy.
