Bajhang earthquake update: One dead, 135 houses damaged

BAJHANG: A person lost his life to an earthquake in Bajhang. The deceased has been identified as Gunamati Dhami, 40, of Okhal, Jaya Prithvi Municipality-11.

According to the Information Officer at the Bajhang District Police Office, Inspector Dipesh Chaudhary, Dhami died after being trapped in a landslide following the earthquake on Tuesday.

A police team has been mobilized to the incident site, according to Inspector Chaudhary.

At least 11 people were injured in the earthquake in Bajhang. Two of them returned home after treatment while nine are being treated at the district hospital.

Police said that the earthquake caused damage to 135 houses in the district. Chaudhay further shared that at least 60 houses were damaged in Thalara and 41 houses in Jaya Prithvi Municipality in the district. RSS
