FNCCI issues circular for suggestions on economic reforms and development

KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FNCCI) has requested suggestions from its members to address the current economic crisis. In the process of exploring solutions to the existing crisis, the FNCCI  has sought suggestions under the series of national economic discussions conducted by the government.

According to the proposal presented in the third executive meeting of the Federation, all stakeholders participated in the national economic discussion held in June. In that meeting held in Kathmandu, the FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal informed that a high-level committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister to form a mechanism for the solution of the current economic crisis.

Under the same series, the Nepal government has also initiated preparations for another discussion involving stakeholders from the economic sector, government bodies, and the private sector. In preparation for this discussion, the Federation has issued a circular for necessary suggestions and consultations with the district chambers of commerce and industry.

The circular states, “In the process of creating a mechanism for high-level economic reform in collaboration with the private sector as well, the Federation will present suggestions and recommendations for public discussion through a comprehensive dialogue. In this regard, the Prime Minister has also publicly stated the intention to conduct an all-encompassing discussion to enhance the improvement process.”

Through the circular, the Federation has informed all its members that suggestions and recommendations are requested for the improvement of the current economic situation and for fostering deep economic development in the private sector. The Federation has requested all its members to provide advice and suggestions, making them available for consideration.
