Top 16 taxpayers recognized for exceptional contributions, NT leads with highest income tax payment

KATHMANDU: The Finance Minister, Dr. Prakasharan Mahat, recognized and commended the top contributors to the nation’s tax revenue in a ceremony held today.

This acknowledgment took place on the culmination of National Tax Day 2080, an annual event organized by the Internal Revenue Department to appreciate exemplary taxpayers.

Highest Income Tax: Nepal Telecom 

Banks and Financial Institutions: Global IME Bank

Export Business: Dabur Nepal Pvt Ltd

Special Industry : Asian Paints

Agriculture and Animal Products: OCB FOODS AND FEEDS PVT. LTD

Cooperatives and microfinance: Chhemek Microfinance

Insurance: Life Insurance Corporation

Health and Education: Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospital

Tourism: Manakamna Darshan 

Merchandise: Bhatbhateni Supermarket

Middle level taxpayer: Nepal Stock Exchange

Energy: Bhotekosi Power Company

Remittance : IME Limited

Individual Income: Bijaya Kmar Shah

Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd (Institutional) was distinguished for its outstanding contributions in two categories, namely paying the highest sum of taxes, encompassing income tax and VAT, and consistently submitting bills on schedule.

This recognition underscores the government’s commitment to acknowledging and honoring responsible taxpayers who play a pivotal role in the country’s fiscal health.
