NEPSE surges by 38.14 points: Nepal Stock Exchange closes strong at 2,060.49

KATHMANDU: On Monday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a robust surge of 38.14 points, concluding the trading day at 2,060.49 points.

The secondary market commenced at 2,022.35 points, experiencing fluctuations that reached a peak of 2,070.44 points midway through the trading hours. In the latter part of the day, the market experienced a slight dip of approximately 10 points before closing.

The sensitive index, reflecting the performance of ‘A’ class companies, saw an additional gain of 9.56 points. The daily turnover surged to Rs 6.868 billion, marking an increase from Rs 5.157 billion on Sunday.

Hydropower was the sole group incurring losses, with a decline of 7.83 points in its index. Among the 12 gainers, microfinance recorded the highest increase of 197.02 points, followed by hotels and tourism, manufacturing and processing, and life insurance, all registering gains in triple-digit points.

In terms of individual companies, 165 witnessed gains, while 72 incurred losses.

Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company Limited led in trade volume with shares worth Rs 262.67 million. Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited emerged as the top gainer, increasing its market price by 10 percent. Conversely, Himalayan Power Partner Ltd experienced the most significant decline, losing 7.86 percent of its market value.
