Government to boost Nepal's economy through flexible stock market and real estate policies

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its upward trend for the fourth consecutive day this week, with the benchmark index surging 34 points to close at 2,695 on Wednesday.

Of the traded companies, 185 saw their share prices rise, while 62 experienced declines, and one remained unchanged. A total of 30 million shares from 317 companies were traded, generating a turnover of NPR 9.74 billion.

NRN Infrastructure and Development led the market with NPR 550 million in transactions, followed by Sahas Urja (NPR 490 million), Saptakoshi Development Bank (NPR 350 million), Laxmi Sunrise Bank (NPR 290 million), and Butwal Power Company (NPR 280 million).

Green Development Bank and Khanikhola Hydropower shares surged by 10%, hitting the positive circuit breaker. All sub-sector indices recorded gains, reflecting widespread optimism across the market, according to NEPSE.

The robust trading volume and broad-based gains signal strong investor confidence, bolstered by improved liquidity and anticipation of favorable monetary policies.
