, KATHMANDU: The government has prohibited the construction of structures and planting of trees on land on either side of the 400 kV electricity transmission line to be built by MCA-Nepal.Government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel announced this while publicizing the decisions of the Cabinet meeting held on Monday.
The 400 kV transmission line under MCA-Nepal will pass through Nawalparasi, Palpa, Tanahu, Chitwan, Dhading, Sindhupalchok, Kathmandu, Nuwakot, and Makwanpur districts. In these districts, approximately 1,381 hectares of land—23 meters on each side from the centerline of the transmission line—will be restricted from any type of structure construction or tree planting, Kharel said.
The Cabinet meeting also granted prior approval to conduct an organizational and management survey of the Ministry of Energy and its subordinate bodies.
