KATHMANDU: The ninth edition of the ‘Ncell Business Barakhari Invitational Golf Tournament and Economic Symposium’ will be held on April 19 (Baisakh 19) at the Gokarna Golf Club.
Organizing body Barakhari Media announced the event during a press conference in Kathmandu on Thursday. The program combines a golf tournament with an economic symposium, aiming to bring together corporate leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss Nepal’s economic outlook.
Indian policymaker Amitabh Kant will attend the event as the keynote speaker. Nepal’s Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is scheduled to participate as the chief guest and deliver a special address. Former Finance Secretary Rameshwor Khanal will present a working paper during the symposium.
Editor-in-Chief Pratik Pradhan said the event aims to create a common platform for discussions on economic issues while engaging the private sector through sports.
From the private sector, Ncell representatives said the partnership is strategic and helps connect businesses under one platform. The company is also expanding enterprise services such as data centers, cloud, and cybersecurity.
According to organizers, more than 100 invited players, including men, women, and senior golfers, will participate in the tournament. The main winner will receive a gold ball, while a hole-in-one prize includes a BYD Atto 3.
Organizers said the event also promotes networking among business leaders and highlights the potential of golf tourism in Nepal.
