KATHMANDU — The results of the election held on Baisakh 22 for the new leadership of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) have been officially announced, and the newly elected team has received victory certificates.

As per the FNCCI statute, current Senior Vice President Anjan Shrestha has automatically become the new president of the federation. Along with him, other office bearers and executive members have also been finalized through the election process.

In the Associate Vice President category, Prabal Jung Pandey secured victory with 1,079 votes. His rival Jyotsna Shrestha received 750 votes. Pandey is associated with Lomos Pharmaceuticals and Cosmos Cement and is also serving as chairman of Citizens Bank International.

A total of 17 members were elected from the associate category. Sachin Dhakal secured the highest number of votes at 1,318. Similarly, Hemant Golchha received 1,202 votes, Ambika Prasad Poudel 1,183 votes, Ujjwal Kumar Shrestha 1,156 votes, Shakti Kumar Begani 1,142 votes, Rishi Agrawal 1,122 votes and Sushil Thapa 1,094 votes to win their respective positions.

Likewise, Rajesh Kumar Agrawal secured 1,082 votes, Suyas Pyaakurel 1,069 votes, Ram Sharan Bhandari 1,043 votes, Babu Kaji Karki 1,006 votes, Diwash Nyaupane 991 votes, Krishna Lal Maharjan 974 votes, Priyaraj Regmi 954 votes, Ishwor Bahadur GC 949 votes, Suraj Upreti 907 votes and Batu Lamichhane 860 votes to emerge victorious.

The associate category election witnessed direct competition between the panels led by Prabal Jung Pandey and Jyotsna Shrestha, with the majority of candidates from the Pandey panel securing victories.

In the commodity sector vice president position, Naresh Lal Shrestha was elected after securing 63 votes, defeating rival Shiv Prasad Ghimire by a narrow margin of three votes. Ghimire received 60 votes.

Under the commodity category, 13 candidates were elected for executive member positions, while the remaining three seats will be decided through a lottery process.

According to the election results, Araniko Rajbhandari secured the highest 70 votes. Similarly, Bidur Dhamala and Sagar Dhakal each received 68 votes, while Rabin Puri received 66 votes. Raj Kumar Karki secured 63 votes, while Pashupati Dev Pandey and Lilendra Pradhan each received 62 votes.

Likewise, Bhakta Bahadur Hamal secured 56 votes, Nani Raj Ghimire 52 votes, and Sangharsha Bista along with Home Prasad Ghimire secured 51 votes each.

In the women member category, Sunita Nehafuki won with 54 votes.

Similarly, Nirajan Chalaune, Raghunandan Maru, Biplav Adhikari and Suraj Banjade each secured 50 votes. Among them, two candidates will be selected through a lottery process.

In the district and municipal vice president category, Krishna Prasad Sharma and Dil Sundar Shrestha emerged victorious with 87 and 80 votes respectively. Both candidates were from the panel led by incoming FNCCI President Anjan Shrestha.

On the other hand, candidates Umesh Dalmia and Kalpana Gaire from the panel of Senior Vice President candidate Hem Raj Dhakal secured 50 and 30 votes respectively.

Under the district and municipal open category, Arjun Kumar Shrestha, Prayas Karki, Krishna Katuwal, Laxman Raj Poudel, Chhatradhar Atreya, Mohan Prasad Shrestha, Santosh Khadka, Deepak Nepal, Keshav Prasad Bhandari, Hari Prasad Aryal, Tara Bahadur Karki, Shankar Giri, Ujjwal Prasad Kasaju and Sudarshan Karki were elected.

Similarly, Geeta Amatya and Hira Bhattarai were elected under the women category.
