bishnu paudel arrest
KATHMANDU: The Special Court has extended the custody of CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bishnu Prasad Paudel by six days in connection with an ongoing money laundering investigation.
A bench of judges Hemanta Rawal, Dilliratna Shrestha, and Umesh Koirala issued the order extending his remand as the investigation into the case continues. This is the third extension of custody since his arrest.
Paudel was arrested from Surkhet on Asar 8 by the Department of Money Laundering Investigation. Authorities have been probing alleged suspicious sources of income linked to his share transactions and overall assets, according to departmental sources.
The former Finance Minister had previously been granted custody extensions twice by the Special Court as investigators continued gathering evidence related to the case.
