Nepal Airlines to resume Kathmandu–Dubai flights after 11 days, Passengers asked to revalidate tickets

KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced that it will resume its Kathmandu–Dubai international flight operations after an 11-day suspension, with scheduled departures beginning Wednesday amid ongoing uncertainty in the Gulf region.

In a public notice issued Tuesday, the state-owned airline said its aircraft will depart from Tribhuvan International Airport for Dubai on Wednesday, while the return flight from Dubai to Kathmandu is scheduled for Thursday.

The airline has urged passengers to revalidate their tickets before traveling to the airport, stating that only those with confirmed and revalidated tickets will be allowed to board the flight.

According to NAC, passengers who had previously booked tickets between February 28 and March 9 but were unable to travel due to flight disruptions must send their tickets via email to the airline for ticket revalidation if they wish to travel on March 11. Passengers will be allowed to travel based on the revalidated ticket and the airline’s latest travel notice.

The airline clarified that previously stranded passengers will be accommodated on a “first-come, first-served basis,” subject to seat availability on the aircraft.

NAC also warned travelers that the volatile security situation in the Gulf region could affect international aviation operations at any time. Because of the unpredictable circumstances and safety considerations, flights may be canceled without prior notice.

“In case travel is disrupted due to extraordinary conditions, the corporation will not bear any financial or other liabilities,” the airline stated in the notice.

The Kathmandu–Dubai route is one of the most important air corridors for Nepali migrant workers and business travelers, linking Nepal with the Middle East labor market and the global aviation hub in Dubai. The temporary suspension had affected dozens of travelers, including migrant workers returning to jobs in the Gulf and Nepalis planning to return home.

The resumption of the flight service is expected to ease travel congestion at Kathmandu airport and provide relief to stranded passengers, though airline officials say operations will continue to depend on regional security developments and aviation safety assessments.
