Bindra Hada Bhattarai
KATHMANDU: Bindra Hada Bhattarai has been appointed as an Independent Director on the Board of Global IME Bank Limited.
A meeting of the bank’s Board of Directors held on Friday decided to appoint Bhattarai to the vacant position of Independent Female Director. She was formally welcomed to the board by the bank’s Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal during a special ceremony.
Bhattarai brings more than three decades of experience in public administration, governance, policy-making, and development management. During her public service career, she served in various key government institutions, including the Ministry of Irrigation, the Office of Nepal Trust, the National Planning Commission, the National Information Commission, the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare, and the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
She holds master’s degrees in Chemistry and Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Law from Tribhuvan University. She has also pursued higher studies in Public Policy (Trade and Finance) at the University of North Carolina and Nonprofit Management at Duke University.
Currently, Bhattarai serves as an executive member of South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics and Environment and as an independent director at Professional Holdings.
Global IME Bank said her extensive experience and expertise are expected to strengthen the bank’s business strategy, corporate governance, sustainability agenda, and social responsibility initiatives.
The welcoming ceremony was attended by other board members, the bank’s chief executive officer, and senior management officials.
