DoC collects Rs 48 billion in first two months

KATHMANDU: Department of Customs (DoC) has collected revenue worth around Rs 48 billion in the first two months of the current fiscal year.

According to the department, revenue worth Rs 47.83 billion has been collected in the first two months of the current fiscal. The collected amount is around 94 per cent of the department’s total target for the review months for this fiscal. In the first month of the fiscal year the department had collected more than its target.

As per DoC, though it had set a target of collecting Rs 19.89 billion in the first month of this fiscal it was able to collect a total of Rs 22.84 billion. Of all the customs offices the highest revenue of Rs 8.59 billion was collected from the Birgunj Customs Office.

Similarly, a total of Rs 6.49 billion, Rs 2.56 billion, and Rs 1.46 billion were collected from Bhairahawa, Biratnagar and Nepalgunj customs offices, respectively.

Meanwhile, revenue of Rs 930 million was collected from the Tribhuvan International Airport.
