DoTM begins online ticketing monitoring system

KATHMANDU: The Department of Transportation Management (DoTM) has started an online ticketing monitoring system to regulate public transportation services that ferry passengers. Along with this, the department has issued a notice today requesting all public vehicle operators to register their vehicles in this system.

The department believes that the system will help eliminate the distortions in ticket sales of public transport. Through the system, the Department of Transportation Management, Traffic Police, and other regulatory bodies will be able to regulate vehicles from their respective offices.

After joining the transport company system, one can get information on the route, the time the public transport leaves, number of passengers and the person/office who has issued the ticket. It will also have the contact number of the passengers.

The department has started the system as per the ‘Online Ticket Purchase and Sale Directive, 2077’ for medium- and long-distance passenger public transport service. The directive has been implemented since September 10. The system is also expected to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection.
