Govt tables MCC Compact in the Parliament, next HoR meeting on February 24

KATHMANDU: The government has tabled the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) grant agreement in parliament for ratification amid protest of lawmakers belonging to the main oppositoon party, CPN-UML, and ruling CPN (Maoist Center).

Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki tabled the MCC grant agreement in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Sunday, amid protests from UML and Maoist Center lawmakers.

Meanwhile, the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has been rescheduled for February 24 (Thursday).

After tabling the US-aid project- Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement in today’s HoR meeting, the House meeting was deferred for Thursday at 1 PM.
