Supreme Court orders govt not to build international airport in Nijgadh

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has ordered the government not to build an international airport in Nijgadh, Bara.

A full bench of Justices Harikrishna Karki, Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada, Prakash Man Singh Raut and Manoj Kumar Sharma issued a verdict to this effect asking the government not to initiate any process of constructing international airport in Nijgadh.

Hearing the writ petition filed by senior advocate Prakash Mani Sharma, the apex court also decided to quash the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report of Nijgadh Airport.
