Lumbini Cable Car to be operational from January

KATHMANDU: The cable car in Lumbini, connecting Bamghat in Rupandehi to Basantpur Danda in Palpa, will be operational from next January.

Lumbini Cable Car Chairperson Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that the under-construction cable car will be ready by next December and will be operational from January 1.

Dhakal said that the construction of about 400 meters of access road leading to the lower station of the cable car has been completed. He said that the construction work of sub-structure of lower station is almost complete and the work of super structure and site development is in progress. He said that out of nine towers, the construction work of eight towers has been completed and work on the remaining towers is going on in full swing.

As per him, the work of sub-structure at the upper station is in the final stage and the work of import of cable car equipment and spare parts is in progress.

Dhakal also informed that tructures including hotels, amusement parks and temples will be constructed on Basantpur Danda.
