Since July, 80,000 Nepali students have used the NOC to study abroad

KATHMANDU: Around 80,000 Nepali students have applied for No Objection Certificates (NOC) to study abroad, according to KATHMANDU, April 7.

From July 2022 to March 2023, 79,309 individuals received foreign study permits, according to Basu Dev Wasti, Director of the Foreign Study Permit Branch at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

On the day following an online application, the Foreign Study Permit Branch has begun issuing NOCs. Out of the 609 online applications received on Thursday, 529 were accepted. On Friday, letters confirming acceptance will be sent to 500 applicants.

The Branch reports that every day, on average, 600 people apply for visas to study abroad. According to Wasti, service delivery is now more streamlined and quick.

Since starting to inform the worried students about the deadline for submitting an online application and receiving a NOC, the Branch claims that the number of people waiting in lines has decreased.

Wasti added that they are making every effort to make the NOC-getting process simple for students. For the benefit of the clients, free Wi-Fi service will be offered, he declared.

We’re attempting to make things simple for the students. With the help of our friends, we were able to file the application on the same day and issue the NOC the following day. We are currently attempting to make it more practical by offering a free Wi-Fi facility,” he said.
