Nepali IT Firms Shine at World IT Show 2025 in Seoul, Strengthening Nepal-Korea Tech Ties

KATHMANDU: Three leading Nepali IT companies—Genese Solution, Quickfox Consulting, and AMNIL Technologies—made a significant impact at the World IT Show (WIS) 2025, Korea’s premier information and communication technology (ICT) exhibition, held at the COEX Convention Center in Seoul from April 24 to 26. Under the theme “The Next Wave,” the event showcased cutting-edge innovations in generative AI, quantum computing, on-device AI, digital health, smart mobility, and 6G communication, drawing nearly 70,000 visitors and over 450 global tech companies.

Organized by South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and K. Fairs Ltd., WIS 2025 served as a global hub for thought leadership, networking, and cross-border business development. The three-day event featured technology zones highlighting AI, metaverse, semiconductors, telecom, and smart cities, alongside the Global ICT Insight Conference, which explored industrial transformation, data sovereignty, and AI governance.

WIS Business Meetings facilitated 1:1 matchmaking for exhibitors and global buyers, while Innovation Awards celebrated groundbreaking advancements from startups and industry giants. Concurrent programs, including the ITRC Human Resource Development Festival and ICT Tech Commercialization Festival, enriched the event’s offerings.

Representing Nepal, Anjani Phuyal, CEO of Genese Solution and a top AWS Ambassador for the UK and Ireland, joined Sona Singh and Pallav Parajullee from Quickfox Consulting, and Alisha Shrestha from AMNIL Technologies. “Our participation underscores Nepal’s commitment to global tech partnerships and advancing digital economies in South Asia,” Phuyal said, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration in digital innovation. Their presence highlighted Nepal’s growing influence in the global ICT landscape, showcasing homegrown solutions on a prestigious platform.

The Nepali delegation’s participation was amplified by a high-level networking event hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Seoul and the Nepal Association for Software and IT Services Companies (NAS-IT) on April 25. Titled “Strengthening Nepal–Korea Connection: Collaborating for a Digital Future,” the event convened top tech and business leaders from both nations to explore strategic partnerships in cloud computing, digital transformation, and innovation. The gathering fostered discussions on leveraging South Korea’s advanced ICT ecosystem to bolster Nepal’s digital ambitions, signaling a new era of bilateral tech cooperation.

Nepal’s involvement comes at a time when its IT sector is gaining momentum, driven by startups and firms specializing in AI, cloud services, and digital solutions. The World IT Show provided a critical platform for Nepali companies to connect with global buyers, forge partnerships, and showcase their capabilities in emerging technologies. However, challenges such as limited international exposure and infrastructure constraints remain, with experts urging Nepal to invest in tech education and connectivity to sustain this growth.

South Korea, a global ICT powerhouse with a $61.17 billion digital transformation market in 2025, offers a model for Nepal’s aspirations. The event’s focus on AI, 6G, and smart mobility aligns with Nepal’s push for digital innovation, as evidenced by recent government initiatives to promote IT entrepreneurship. Stakeholders now look to the Nepal-Korea partnership to drive cross-border projects, particularly in AI and cloud computing, to elevate Nepal’s tech ecosystem.

As Nepal’s IT firms gain global recognition, their success at WIS 2025 marks a pivotal moment for the nation’s digital journey, with potential to boost economic growth and regional tech collaboration.
