KATHMANDU: Tarakeshwor Municipality-3 welcomed a new chapter in its tourism landscape with the grand opening of Nagarjun Resort on Tuesday, inaugurated by Minister for Forests and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri. The state-of-the-art facility promises to elevate the region’s appeal to domestic and international tourists while creating economic opportunities for the local community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Shahi hailed the resort as a catalyst for economic growth, stating it would attract visitors and strengthen Tarakeshwor’s position as a tourism hub. He praised the private sector’s role in advancing Nepal’s tourism industry and affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting such initiatives. “This resort showcases how strategic investments can align with our national vision for tourism-led prosperity,” Shahi said.
Tarakeshwor Mayor Krishna Hari Maharjan, Deputy Mayor Srijana Burlakoti Aryal, and Ward 3 Chairperson Parshuram Aryal expressed enthusiasm about the project’s potential to generate jobs and boost local businesses. They highlighted the resort’s role in showcasing the municipality’s cultural and natural attractions, drawing more visitors to the area.
Swami Anand Arun, a spiritual leader present at the event, described Nepal as a global tourism gem, citing its cultural richness and spiritual heritage as key draws for travelers. “This resort will help share Nepal’s unique charm with the world,” he said.
Managing Director of Resort Abhishek Bikram Shah outlined the facility’s commitment to community development, emphasizing plans to create local employment opportunities and support regional growth. “Our goal is to empower the community while offering a world-class experience to guests,” Shah stated.
The launch of Nagarjun Resort marks a significant step in Nepal’s efforts to revitalize its tourism sector, a vital economic driver.
