KATHMANDU: The Board of Airlines Representatives in Nepal (BARN), the umbrella body representing international airlines operating in Nepal, has elected a new Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term following the successful completion of its 30th and 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Held on June 5 in Lalitpur under the theme “Resilient Skies, Shared Vision,” the AGM brought together representatives of airlines operating in Nepal to review the association’s activities, endorse financial reports, and discuss key developments shaping the country’s aviation sector.
The meeting also focused on strengthening collaboration among airlines and stakeholders at a time when Nepal’s aviation industry is witnessing growing passenger traffic, expanding international connectivity, and rapid digital transformation.
The AGM elected the following members to lead BARN for the next two years:
A key highlight of the AGM was a special presentation by Verteil Technologies on New Distribution Capability (NDC) solutions and the future of airline retailing. The session explored how airlines can leverage next-generation distribution technology to enhance customer experience, personalize offerings, and improve operational efficiency.
Industry participants discussed evolving global aviation trends and the increasing importance of digital innovation in airline sales and distribution.
BARN also expressed appreciation to Verteil Technologies and the Soaltee Group of Companies for supporting the successful organization of the AGM.
The newly elected Executive Committee reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation among airlines, regulators, tourism stakeholders, and aviation service providers. The association said it would continue to advocate for policies and initiatives that support the sustainable growth of Nepal’s aviation industry.
Established in 1990, BARN serves as the collective voice of airlines operating in Nepal and works closely with government agencies, airports, tourism bodies, and industry stakeholders to promote safe, efficient, and sustainable aviation development.
