Aryan Shrestha-President award
KATHMANDU: Presidential Graduate School has honored BSIT graduate Aryan Shrestha with the prestigious President’s Award 2026 during its 10th Convocation Ceremony.
According to the institution’s Founder and Executive Chairman, Laxman KC, the President’s Award is the highest recognition bestowed upon a student by the college. The award is presented annually to a student who demonstrates outstanding achievements in academic excellence, leadership, institutional contribution, community service, collaboration, and innovation.
Shrestha was selected by a special committee comprising faculty members and senior management representatives following a comprehensive evaluation process.
During the ceremony, the institution also recognized outstanding students from various academic programs. Manoj Dhungel and Bishal Aryal from the MBA program; Sushil Tiwari and Sushmita Shrestha from MSIT; Bidyasagar Shrestha and Dinesh Pathak from BBA; and Prapti Rijal and Saru Khatiwada from BSIT received the Outstanding Student Award for 2026.
“We aspire to produce graduates who do more than earn degrees. We want them to become capable leaders who can create positive change for society, industry, and the nation through innovative solutions to real-world challenges. Aryan Shrestha embodies that vision,” said Chairman KC.
The award was jointly presented by Dr. Ying Iverson, Chief Academic Officer of Westcliff University, and Chairman KC. As part of the recognition, Shrestha received a trophy and a certificate.
The President’s Award is regarded as the institution’s highest honor, recognizing exceptional academic performance, leadership, innovative thinking, social impact, and contributions to the college community. Receiving the award is considered a significant achievement not only for the recipient but also for the broader academic community.
Expressing his gratitude after receiving the award, Shrestha said the recognition reflected the collective efforts of fellow students, faculty members, and the college community rather than an individual accomplishment. He also pledged to continue working on projects that create positive impact in the fields of cybersecurity, technology, innovation, and social development.
According to Chairman KC, Shrestha made remarkable contributions in innovation and social responsibility throughout his academic journey. He played a key role in establishing the college’s Cybersecurity Club and later served as its President. Through internal programs and external collaborations, he helped provide cybersecurity guidance and mentorship to more than 300 students.
Shrestha also served as a HackerEarth Campus Ambassador in 2022 and developed an innovative project focused on identifying suicide-related content on social media platforms. The project received recognition at the NEC Project Demonstration Competition.
In addition, he coordinated and organized various technical and academic events while collaborating with international cybersecurity organizations to create practical learning opportunities for students.
One of his notable initiatives was advocating for the establishment of a Security Operations Center (SOC) at the college. The facility provides students with hands-on experience in cybersecurity monitoring, risk analysis, and cyber incident management, helping bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice.
