Market Context

Nepal Telecom, one of the country’s largest state-owned enterprises and a key player in Nepal’s telecommunications sector, has remained a major dividend-paying company on the NEPSE. The dividend announcement is expected to draw attention from retail and institutional investors amid ongoing scrutiny of public enterprises’ financial performance and dividend sustainability.

The dividend proposal comes at a time when investors are closely watching the financial health, operational efficiency, and future investment plans of state-owned companies, particularly in capital-intensive sectors such as telecommunications and digital infrastructure.
