KATHMANDU: Sophia Tamang has emerged as the winner of the TechSkills Australia IT Scholarship Grand Finale 2026, held at the Nepal Police Club Hall in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
Six finalists competed in the final round through a series of IT-based task challenges, with Tamang securing the championship title. She received a cash prize of Rs 100,000 along with a job guarantee opportunity.
Prarthana Mishra was declared the First Runner-up and received Rs 50,000 and a job guarantee opportunity, while Bibek Adhikari secured the Second Runner-up position.
The event was attended by chief guest Ryan O’Connell, cybersecurity expert Ranjan Raja, and journalist Saral Gurung, who highlighted the importance of digital skills, cybersecurity awareness, and career readiness.
Speaking at the event, TechSkills founder Biraj Bhadel said the initiative aims to equip Nepali youth with international-standard IT skills, professional guidance, and global employment opportunities.
According to the organizers, the competition served as a platform to encourage young people to pursue technology careers and develop globally competitive digital skills.
