Economy will return to normal within three months if government and central bank facilitate: Chandra Dhakal

KATHMANDU: In order to resolve the current crisis, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Senior Vice President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, has suggested holding a massive national consultation.

Senior Vice President Dhakal urged all parties to resolve the current situation before it worsened during the opening ceremony of the 57th Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He also stated that the Nepal Government, Nepal Rashtra Bank, development partners, economists, and the private sector should all participate in creating a road map to resolve the economic crisis.

From this general assembly forward, Senior Vice President Dhakal will serve as president of the federation.

“The nation’s economy is currently experiencing a crisis. The state of the economy is relaxed. There is a disruption in the supply chain. The business and industrial elite are in difficulty. The price of development is very low. The revenue is insufficient to cover even basic costs, he continued, “but if all economic concerns voice their concerns in a timely manner, it won’t be difficult to resolve the current economic issue. “.

He claimed that it is feasible to restore a small economy like ours to normal within a few months, and that in order to do so, the government should prioritize the economy while enlisting the private sector, and the Nepal Rastra Bank should provide tools to boost market liquidity and lower interest rates through flexible monetary policy.
