Gold Price crosses Rs 270,000 per Tola, Sets new all-time high

KATHMANDU: Gold prices in the Nepali market continued their upward momentum on Sunday, setting a fresh all-time high for the second consecutive trading session.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of gold was fixed at a record Rs 270,600 per tola for Sunday, the first trading day of the week. This represents an increase of Rs 1,300 per tola compared to the previous trading day.

On Friday, gold prices had already surged by Rs 1,800 per tola to reach Rs 269,300, marking what was then the highest level recorded in the domestic market.

Silver prices also registered a sharp rise on Sunday. The price of silver increased by Rs 270 per tola to reach Rs 4,835. On Friday, silver had been trading at Rs 4,565 per tola.

Market participants attribute the sustained rise in precious metal prices to continued volatility in the international market and strong demand, with domestic prices reflecting global trends.
