KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has initiated special digital promotion campaigns on TikTok and Douyin aimed at strengthening Nepal’s tourism promotion in international markets through short-form visual storytelling and destination-focused digital content.

Under the campaign, NTB has already released promotional videos featuring destinations and tourism experiences including Langtang Trek, Gosainkunda, Bandipur, Chitwan National Park, Bardia and several other tourism products of Nepal. Additional productions are currently in the pipeline, with a total of 25 focused promotional videos planned under the campaign.

In a parallel initiative targeting the Chinese market, NTB, in association with the Embassy of Nepal in China, has also started a dedicated promotion campaign on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok. The campaign includes promotional contents with Chinese audio and text tailored specifically for Chinese audiences and travelers.

Speaking on the initiative, NTB Officiating Chief Executive Officer Mr. Hikmat Singh Ayer stated that digital platforms have become one of the most effective tools for tourism promotion globally, particularly among younger and experience-driven travelers.

“Digital storytelling through platforms such as TikTok and Douyin enables Nepal to directly connect with global audiences in a more engaging, authentic and accessible manner. NTB is committed to utilizing innovative digital approaches to promote Nepal’s diverse tourism experiences in key international markets,” he said.

NTB believes these campaigns will contribute towards enhancing Nepal’s international tourism visibility and strengthening destination awareness among digitally connected travelers worldwide.

Nepal Tourism Board requests tourism stakeholders, tourism entrepreneurs, media professionals, content creators and the wider public to actively support and amplify these initiatives by promoting the campaign contents through their respective networks and platforms.
